Tune-in to CKUT radio for 'world skip the beat' the second edition of Cultural 
Crossroads, hosted by journalist Stefan Christoff, featuring interviews with 
leading global music artists from Montreal.

CKUTs radio's weekly global music program, 'world skip the beat', airs each 
Monday featuring musical sounds from around the world. A special edition, 
Cultural Crossroads II, will highlight unique music while featuring extended 
interviews with celebrated Jazz saxophonist Matana Roberts and Iranian musician 
Babak Towhidi from Advaar ensemble.


* Matana Roberts is a celebrated Chicago-born jazz saxophonist, playing both 
classical and improvisational compositions, Matana has won the praise of music 
critics internationally. According to the New York Times, "Matana Roberts, a 
fearless and charismatic Chicago-born saxophonist who can reconcile all sorts 
of saxophone languages."

* Advaar is a celebrated Iranian music ensemble, the name is a Persian term 
meaning cycle, a notion found at the very heart in Persian art. Advaar is 
dedicated to building on the great Persian cultural heritage as well as 
composition and improvisation inspired by the landscape of learned and 
traditional repertoires. Babak Towhidi is the founder of Advaar ensemble.
