Liebe Indy Community,

wir sehen die Bewerbung von Indy Oxford mit großer Sorge, denn ein Mitglied 
der Mayday Gruppe ist Mitglied bei Indy Oxford. Jegliches Restvertrauen zur 
Mayday Gruppe wurde durch den Diebstahl der Domain indymedia.org.uk zerstört, 
denn die Mitglieder der Gruppe haben damit kollektiven Besitz in ihren 
Privatbesitz verwandelt. 

Noch immer ist auf der Startseite der meisten Indymedia Websites ein Link zu 
uk.indymedia.org, der auf die gestohlene Domain indymedia.org.uk umleitet. Wir 
fordern diejenigen, die die Passwörter zur Änderung der Cities List haben, 
nochmals auf, diesen Link endlich zu entfernen. Weiter fordern wir die DNS 
working group auf, den DNS-Eintrag von uk.indymedia.org endlich auf das Archiv 
der Indy UK-Seite zu setzen oder den Eintrag zu löschen. 

Der Entzug aller Indymedia-Ressourcen für die Mayday Gruppe wegen ihres 
Vertrauensbruchs wurde bereits vor Monaten auf dieser Liste beschlossen. Die 
Nichtumsetzung stellt einen Machtmissbrauch und damit ebenfalls einen 
Vertrauensbruch dar. Selbstverständlich sind die Techies Teil von Indymedia 
und können darüber die Politik mitbestimmen. Wenn aber eine Entscheidung vom 
gesamten Netzwerk gefällt wurde, müssen sich alle daran halten - auch die 
Techies. Wenn Techies meinen, die Politik des Indymedia-Netzwerks über die 
ihnen geliehene Macht bestimmen zu wollen, dann sollten sie das Netzwerk 
verlassen.

Dear Indy Community,

we see Indy Oxford's application with great concern as one member of the 
Mayday group is also a member of Indy Oxford. We have no more confidence in the 
Mayday group because they have stolen the domain indymedia.org.uk and turned 
collective property into private one.

There is still a link to uk.indymedia.org on the front page of most Indymedia 
websites which redirects to the stolen domain indymedia.org.uk. Once again we 
ask those who know the passwords to change the cities list to finally remove 
the link. Furthermore, we ask the DNS working group to change the DNS record 
of uk.indymedia.org to point to the archive of the UK Indy site or remove the 
record completely.

The withdrawal of all Indymedia resources from the Mayday group as a 
consequence of their breach of confidence was decided upon on this list months 
ago. The lack of implementation is an abuse of power and thus a breach of 
confidence, too. Of course, the techies are part of Indymedia and can influence 
the politics of the network this way. But if a decision is taken by the whole 
network then everyone must stick to - the techies, too. If the techies try to 
dictate the politics of the Indymedia network through technical power which 
was lent to them by the network then they should leave the network.
