Hello

I'm Graham, the contact for Oxford's IMC application.

I am happy to work with JimDog and Linksunten IMC to address concerns
about Oxford's application.

I cannot address the concerns about Mayday. As Jimdog said, Oxford has
always remained neutral in the UK disagreements. We published a
statement here:
https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/oxford/2011/05/479419.html

On the concerns about Oxford ...

JimDog said:
> they have demonstrated well that the collective can handle this
> apparent conflict of interest well through their regular face to face
> meetings and positive attitude to the work that they do in their
> community.
I agree with this.

Also, Oxford is developing a new website that will be completely
independent from Mir.

I believe that Oxford IMC will be totally independent from Mayday. This
independence includes:
# Meetings & decision making
# Editorial guidelines
# Mission statement
# Technology

I hope this address Linksunten IMC's concerns about Oxford's applications.

If there are any other questions, please let m eknow and I will try to
answer them.

Many thanks

G

Hallo

Meinungsverschiedenheiten. Wir veröffentlichten eine Erklärung hier:
https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/oxford/2011/05/479419.html

Auf die Bedenken Oxford ...

JimDog sagte:

vielen Dank

G

>
> Although it is true that the division in the UK that lead to the loss of collective control of the IMC UK site by IMC collectives in the UK remains unresolved, and appears unlikely to ever be so in a manner satisfactory to all parties, IMC Oxford has always stated their desire to remain neutral in this dispute, and their actions have admirably demonstrated this.
>
> They have passed the new-imc stage of the application process without hindrance, and fulfil all of the criteria required by the process.
>
> Whilst it is true that one of their members is also a member of the 'mayday' collective that have had all access to imc resources withdrawn, it is my belief that they have demonstrated well that the collective can handle this apparent conflict of interest well through their regular face to face meetings and positive attitude to the work that they do in their community. It seems that the best course of action to hopefully steer towards a positive outcome of the UK situation is that groups such as IMC Oxford, focusing on the needs of their community, continue to build bridges and set an example to us all about how a good IMC should work in practise.
>
> In light of this, their desire to work closely with someone at the centre of recent negative events should be a decision that we trust their judgement on in my opinion, since they have shown themselves capable as a group of maintaining a neutral position and focusing on the important work that they do.
>

>
> The original application seems to have been held in moderation on imc process due to lack of translation for the covering letter. This was my fault since I have been too busy of late to follow it up.
>
> I would like to help resolve this objection with IMC Linksunten resubmit this application to imc-process as soon as is practicable. If both parties are willing, this could happen either in private or on the imc-communication or resolve lists and we can hopefully reach a common position.
