Hello!
I work on a grassroots project in Oxfordshire which supports local community
groups (of volunteers) to provide community solutions to the problem of
increasing waste / rubbish. This can be anything from street shredding
events where residents bring along their garden 'waste' have it shredded and
then put it on their garden instead of their bin (and going to landfill) or
a community swap shop where unwanted (but useful items) are taken to a local
hall / school etc and people can take anything they can put to a good use
(for free!) promoting 'sharing in the community'.
One of the volunteers would like to create a short video showing the
lifecycle of 'rubbish' filming what can go in their recycling box, how it is
collected, where it goes to and what happens to it (and what happens if you
put it in the bin). This will then be made into a DVD to be given to local
groups, schools, Parish Councils etc...
I think this is a great idea and think that I will be able to find some
funding for the project. I am looking for a place that could provide
training and equipment for the volunteer/s. Would Oxford Indymedia be
interested in getting involved?
Many thanks,
Caroline
