Oxford IMC had a meeting last Thursday, at which we discussed the recent
proposal from Northern IMC concerning the process for dealing with UK
Network proposals.

There was a consensus at the Oxford meeting to oppose this proposal, on
the grounds that clauses 8 and 9, which provide for abandonment of
consensus decision-making in two different circumstances, are at odds
with basic Indymedia organisational principles. Both clauses actually
propose not "consensus minus one", but "consensus minus one collective".
Consensus minus one is not consensus; and consensus minus one collective
is even further from consensus.

Oxford IMC is strongly committed to the principle of consensus
decision-making.
