I've been equally astonished about Jenka's causal remark updating this
list about the situation of a possible/future IMC Palestine but being
really distressed about the terrible events going on currently I dind't
want to say the mine until the two people named (Boud and Petros) had
From the time I was in Palestine and tried to get involved with all my
good will in helping to put a network functioning there I've been
thinking that maybe Indymedia's network was not the best "recipe" for
the Palestinian situation: too many hierarchical bonds, too many
difficulties for moving and meeting, the level of access to the network
is too low, difficult and costly to allow the people to collaborate and
work in a regular basis... just to name some of the problems I thought
would make things too difficult.
But I didn't like Jenka's way of exposing the situation and I don't
think it's fair to Boud and Petros to make them appear as intrusing.
They work hard not in their own interest but trying to make the network

independent, grassroot communication. I don't know if there has been any
other moves I didn't read about in other lists but, as far as I know,
they have not been intruding but trying to facilitate the difficult process.
What about me? I've got more than enough work to do in the projects I'm
involved in. I subscribed to this list because Palestine got deeply into
my heart and even though I had a bitter experience trying to do
something useful while being there I made my mind to give it a second
opportunity because I thought that maybe I could help in any way. But
after reading Jenka's rather spiteful mail I realized that the situation
have not changed and people, like us, not living there were still seen as
If anyone wants my help I'll try to give it but I don't want to force
anything, so don't worry about me that I will not impose myself.
Th only thing that lets me sad is that the situation is so terrible that
a tool of communication is truly necessary and this discussions doesn't
I wish you all the luck working on it and I rest avalaible if I can be
of any help.
