the resistance groups, e.g. PFLP, DFLP, Hamas, Al-Jihad, etc., it is
not a question as to whether or not anyone in the IMC agrees with
these people or whether or not any individual Palestinian, e.g. Ali
Abunimah a/k/a "Tel a Bibi", agrees with them.  The people who lead
these organizations are the makers of history.  It was our oblligation
both to the practice of journalism and even more deeply in our
commitment to the Palestinian people and the Palestinian nation, to
make those voices heard.

Unfortunately, it became the practice of the IMC early on to
continiously disrupt, Muslim bait, Palestinian bait, censor, oppress
and slander everything Palestinian and especailly everything Muslim.
The attack against Palestinian journalism on the IMC came primarily
from WITHIN.

It didn't seem to matter whether we were borrowing photographs from
the AP, some of the best Masjid Al-Aqsa Intifada photography in the
world BTW, or whether we got it direct from Hamas or Hezbollah or
whoever.  If the message didn't fit the IMC's predetermined agenda:
that ALL palestinian resistance groups were terrrorists and the
unequivocal "right to exist" for Israel, then all our work day after
day was flushed down the memory hole.

The very fact that the information was coming from Muslims was the
very weapon that was used against us.  The IMC, quite frankly, has
been Jewish controlled.  And if there is to be a Palestinian IMC, I
must unequivocally assert that it be Muslim, not Jewish.  And every
Palestinian not working for the CIA, whether they be from the
Marxist-Leninist PFLP, which incidently is primarily Christian, or
from the Arab-Muslim Al-Fatah, or from the Islamic Resistance
Movement, understands exactly what this means.  It means that the
voice of revolution, the voice of freedom, not the CIA, not the voice
of Shin Bet, will prevail.

We demand the right to desseminate the remarks made by the Palestinian
leadership, e.g. Maher Taher, Khalid Meshaal, Ahmad Sadaat, not just
the CIA controlled Abbas, not just the CIA "Tel a Bibi."  The remarks
made by these individuals fits the very definition of NEWS.  A right
denied by the IMC and CNN alike.  And why?  Because we are not Jews.
Because we do not accept their little Israel.  As a journalist I
cannot be compelled to accept it.

In the last analysis, the IMC has not been independent on any Arab,
Palestinian or Muslim issue.  Any attempt to force the editorial
practices of the past on the Palestinian page must be torpedoed and
sent to the bottom.
