yeah, they're a great foundation. i've gotten grants from them in the past 
for the thomas merton center. and the application process is pretty easy. 
one thing, though - the deadline has passed for this year (i think it was 
the beginning of february). they do have Special Opportunity Grants for $500 
that are on-going throughout the year but you have to prove that it is a 
sort-of emergency rather than something that could be applied for during 
their regular grant cycle. they also have events throughout the year (food, 
mingling, grant-writing workshops) that are really good to go to - the best 
way to getting a grant is often by sparking one of the committee members' 
interest just by informally chatting about it. and they're all really 
personable people from what i remember.
