Start of the meeting:

  - Matt Toups showed us his stardom in the City Paper and fed us
    cinnamon rolls
  - Moved to an outside table
  - More on the SF IMC split

Real part of the meeting:

  - Dan was nominated to be the new liaison for global IMC, as matt
    is sick of doing it.
  - Some discussion on possibly making our own sf-active code base
  - Reminder about the PCTV meeting coming up

Outreach:

  - print up more pamphlets and stickers for distribution
  - Quinten will make a new poster for awareness
	- John and gwen will cover Pitt campus, others will get CMU and AI
  - Update announcements in the City Paper
  - Perhaps go to an AI Open House to find new recruits
  - Related: keep in mind submitting IMC video projects to next
    year's Great Lakes Film Festival

Random:
  - not related: We need to update the names in the financial account.
  - Carly joined the group at this point

"Diversity" (word is gwen's joke, which only she appreciates):
  - Policy on racist or other objectionable news should be overtly stated
	- add phrasing for what can be hidden (racist, sexist, or
	  homophobic)
	- change "contains" to "promotes"
	- to keep with principles of unity
	- continue discussion on what else should be added to the
	  hidden list on discussion list
  - Long discussion on free speech and censorship issues
  - consensus reached about adding phrasing to the policy for the
three approved topics, and that further discussion for other
additions to the policy should be enacted.

Categories:
  - related to outreach
  - announcement should be made about incorporating larger area
    (dan will write)
  - gwen and matt will work on breaking down the region

Feature Requirements:
  - In the interest in getting features set up more quickly, change
the policy from 12 hours to 6 hours or 3 people consent on the
list (without objection), whichever comes first.
	- Consensus approval
  - Further discussion wanted: codify the feature approval process
    into the pages themselves.

Reports:
  - Radio:
	- every other tuesday night from 6-7 on WRCT, 88.3FM
	- includes the newswire from both local and global IMC
	- More people should get involved to:
		- suggest stories for radio
		- come in and help read
		- create segments
		- go over scripts
	- email radio at indypgh.org

  - Web site:
	- New site:
		- moving to new release of sf-active in next couple days
		- no visible impact, but has more options
		- big photos automatically scaled
		- articles more easily promoted to features
		- people can now propose features via the open publishing
		- new feature of dossiers for topic oriented stories
	- possible for the future, create accounts to allow for
	  personal filtering schema

Future Meeting schedule:
  - Possible shift to twice a month schedule, with the first meeting
mainly for general discussion and new people orientation, the
second for more nitty gritty detail oriented discussion. Will
    decide on this next meeting.
