This is a reminder about today's actions downtown. Focus on the
Family and other Christian Right groups are holding a "stand for the
family" political rally tomorrow at the Mellon Area. There are two
independent responses.
1. The WPA Marriage Equality Project, Roots of Promise and other
groups are holding a "presence" (they're not calling it a protest)
starting a 5:15 at Freedom Corner.
see http://standingwithallfamilies.com/
2. Former members of Resyst and others have formed a new group,
Pittsburgh Antifa, and they are organizing a "pink, purple and black"
bloc to confront members of the Christian Right at the Mellon Arena.
The gathering point for the bloc is US Steel Plaza, 600 Grant Street,
Downtown (near 6th Avenue) at 5pm (march steps off at 5:30).
see http://antifa.activeresistance.org
amanda has volunteered to video tape the pink-purple bloc, and so
unless anyone else has already committed to doing it, i will pick up
dan's camera tomorrow en route downtown (assuming it is in 305).
obviously the audio for that could also be used for the radio show if
nobody from the radio production unit (RPU) goes to that action.
please feel free to call me if you want more info: 412-421-7716
thanks
