dear manila indymedia,
this past few months since the internal turmoil began last year, our
energies was used to resolve the conflict and our concerns of building the
project that will serve the marginalised/grass roots activist community
was set aside for a moment. and now that we had resolved the particular
conflict, it is now time to continue discussing our concerns of building
an open participatory media for all.
last time, we had been talking concerns of putting a physical media center
in the heart of Manila district or anywhere within manila area, acquiring
equiptments and skills sharing for the community people(we started this
through our proposal to IMC-FINANCE). these concerns in some ways had led
to help the creation of Asia-Pacific Indymedia list that aims to provide
Mutual Aid and Solidarity among southeast-and-east-asian IMC's.
but before we go straight the above concerns, there are other immediate
and necessary concerns that Manila IMC has to resolve. one of these are
the re-consolidation of our EDITORIAL COLLECTIVE, administiring the
website, documents and outreach efforts.
that is why, i want to call for an ASSEMBLY to discuss these matters and
CONSENSUSLY decide for the future of our project.
please post here your additional agendas for our assembly.
[imc-ph-manila at lists.indymedia.org]
the tentative schedule and venue for our assembly is:
When: Month of July 2005
Where: University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City
(the sched and venue is changeable unless/otherwise there's a suggestion.)
any suggestions, opinions, concerns?
cheers,
jong
