hello mads

there was plenty of news about the fake bomb alarm in the mainstream media. probably your
problem with finding it is connected with the fact that your polish is not very good.
unfortunately i don't know whether any of it has been translated into english. try 'the
warsawv voice' -it's an english language newspaper. maybe they've got something about it.

as for the gay power brigade - we would be quite happy to write something about it but
nobody from the gay power brigade (if it exist at all) shared any information about the
action on our site. polish indymedia are still  in initial state of development. at
present we few  active volunteers in warsaw and we can't be everywhere and report
everything (we also tend not to write about things already covered widely by the
commercial press). our service is based mostly on DIY rule. it means that if someone has
 information they want to disseminate - they publish it themselves. this is what 'open
publishing' is about, right?

as for the bomb alarm and its gay connection - all i know from the mainstream press is
that an unknown so far  group calling themselves gay power brigade sent a statement to
several press agencies claiming responsibility for planting bombs in several spots in the
city as a protest against discrimination of sexual minorities in polan. in the statement
they promised to paralize the city's life in the way it paralizes theirs. the claim
wasn't taken seriously by the police - they think it's a provocation and the grupu
doesn't exist.  warsaw mayor lech kaczynski - known for his anti-gay views and
responsible for blocking this year gay prode parade (called equality parade) also doubted
that the GPB are responsible, although he gave quite weird explanation for this belief.
according to him the gay movement is well organized, but not well enough to prepare such
precisely-planned action.   up to now nobody was charged for it and its initiator are
unknown.
