introductory_statement:
- To use Indymedia as a tool to fight for a democratic Burma that represents and empowers all marginalised groups.
- To create a forum for dialogue within and between the many marginalised groups of Burma and progressive activists around the world.
- To develop media alternatives that are free from censorship and encouraging of participation.

resources:
Our main resources are:

- Translation skills.
- Contacts with a diverse community of activists in the Asia Pacific region.
- Through these contacts, we will foster free media culture and indymedia ideals in the region.

outreach:

identity_makeup:
Our collective includes women and men from Burmese, Pao, Chinese and White Monkey ethnic groups. We are Buddhists and atheists.

steps_represent_diversity:
We will invite and encourage participation from other ethnic, cultural, sexual and spiritual identities. A first step in this will be writing and distributing a pamphlet with steps for becoming involved and contributing to Burma Indymedia.

steps_involve_new_workfields:
All collective members are becoming involved in new workfields. We will use skill-sharing to involve all members in all aspects of our work. Through skill sharing and job rotation, all members will be involved in the workings of Indymedia Burma, regardless of gender or other identities.
