Workers International Vanguard League, WIVL, regards the passing of Arafat as a symbol of the real intentions of imperialism in the Middle East - imperialism, in the name of peace, stands for the destruction of the Palestinians and permanent war and division in the Middle East. Imperialism wants the Palestinian refugees of post 1947 to die out and for the fascist artificial state of Israel to be their permanent bulwark in the region. The passing of Arafat also signifies an important lesson to those who are compromisers of a united Palestine [as Arafat was] - imperialism will use you, give you some crumbs off the master's table and then discard you when you have served your purpose.
The most important lesson of this event is that imperialism and any of its agencies, or lackies [in the case for example of the SA govt] cannot be depended upon to free the Palestinian people. We call for working class unity between Palestinians and Jews, between worker and worker, locally and internationally. Now more than ever is it time to build united Working class parties across the world to strengthen and co-ordinate the fight against world capitalism and imperialism.
WIVL calls for support for the march of oppressed on Friday 12 Nov 2004 at 230pm from District Six to parliament.
ONE PALESTINE - NO BANTUSTAN!
DOWN WITH THE TREACHEROUS COSATU LEADERS - DOWN WITH THE ANTI-TERROR LAWS!
