According to the dictionary: strange (adjective) Which deviates from
the order, of the use? Singular, odd. Parce that too many meetings of
youth are connected without really having of range, we want of a
meeting which has a true impact, and where sets up campaigns, concrete
projects. We want also to be require and coherent in the organization
and the choice of the participants... We want that the dynamics which
already exists around a core of African and European actors
"altermondialists" reinforce and widen, around these joint projec=
ts in
progress and to come, through the creation of new networks.
Which activities during the meeting?
DEBATES. Conferences. Film projections. Workshops. Formations.
Cultural activities. Installation of a radio of the meeting. Share
experiments and testimonys. Inter-cultural exchanges. Presentation and
launching of projects.
How is the meeting financed?
We to date have a financial support on behalf of CNCD-Belgium of
15.000 Euros, that is to say 10.000.000 of Franks CFA
intended firstly for the assumption of responsibility of certain
partners of the countries of the south. The whole of the activities
will thus depend on the expenses of inscriptions of the participants.
We await answers of other partners, in particular in Cotonou.
Is time planned for other activities, cultural or tourist? Of course.
The participation in the activities is free. Times of pause,
supporting the discussion, the meeting and the exchange are envisaged.
A visit of places of interest and projects alternative could be
organized on request during the 3 days following the meeting (from the
28 to August 30).
How much does one have to spend on average to hold during the meeting?
It seems to us that 15 000 CFA is the minimum to be had for the 5
days. (23 euros)
3000 CFA per day seems to be a minimum (5 euros).
Indeed, housing on the campus coute 2000 CFA (3 euros) per day.
1000 CFA in more for the meals. To note, the registered people
sufficiently early, and who proposes particular workshops can be dealt
with.
Which are the possibilities and conditions of reception before the
meeting and afterwards?
Solidarit=E9s Jeunesses on the spot organizes a camp-building site as
from August 10 with Cotonou, in the objective to finalize the
organization of the meeting. You can contact them by mall to

ngerencontre at gmail.com</a>). We currently
negotiate the provision of some additional rooms, on the campus at the
university, preferential rates (3 euros the night) for the
interested people. After the meeting, there will be possible to remain
a few days at the university. (to be specified in advance.)
Which will be the longer-term continuations of the meeting?
This meeting is only one intermediate stage in the construction of a
network, even of a youth movement altermondialist, of which the common
characteristic is the use of new technologies. The participants in
this first meeting will continue the adventure common around the
projects on line, and at the time of new meetings to be perhaps
organized together... In addition, of the discussions are envisaged
during the meeting to think all together of action to be taken for the
meeting.
INSCRIPTION
Who can take part in this meeting?
Everyone. The meeting is more particularly intended to the young
people, in particular with the students.
Which are the conditions of participation?
It is enough to be present on the campus from the 22 to August 27 and
to discharge expenses of participation. Those which cannot be present
can take part remotely, via the forum on line. The preliminary
inscription on Internet site is recommended, but not obligatory and

Which are the expenses of participation and which they
include?
One asks: 1000 F CFA (1,5 euros) to the African participants,
10 000 F CFA (15 euros) for the participants of north.
The inscription gives the priority for the participation in the
workshops, the access to the meetings of projection. One can regulate
with the arrival on the spot the first day.
Which, how they are joined together competences are used?
The meeting is intended to people engaged in fights, engaged youth
movements, but not only.
Which are competences necessary to take part in the workshops of
formation?
There will be formations with the use of data processing, for all the
levels. Basic initiation, with the realization of Internet site, while
passing by the use of the electronic tools. The formations car-will be
organized on the spot, according to the people present and their
knowledge. We will also practise activities of radio, with workshops
of production of emissions of radio, and reports (technical
journalistic)
In which languages will take place the meeting? What is it
envisaged in term of translation and interpretership?
The principal language of exchange will be French. According to the
needs, we will set up translations in national languages, and English,
in the form of whisperings. It seems essential and essential to us
that each one can be expressed in its national language. In addition,
for each activity, we envisage to give the possibility of making
written contributions, which will be added to the reports.
ORGANIZATION
Who are the organizers-trices?
The meeting is organized by the network Glegbenu/Chantier young
people, with Benign, in partnership with association Solidarit=E9s
Youths, connects French international network Youth Action for
Peace.(Mouvement International of the Young people for Peace) It is
coordinated by Gustave Assah, of Benign, and Sebastian Alzerreca
(Zoul), of France. There is also an international Steering Committee,
which works mainly by Internet.
How was born the idea from the meeting?
Certain actors of the social movements were disappointed by the
activities carried out by the branch youth of the African Social
Forum, and wanted tested by themselves the organization of such a
meeting. Let us recall here that it is not a question of a simple
meeting, but of a different process with a longer-term vision.
How is the program prepared?
The program will be set up according to the people available, and who
confirm their presences with the meeting. Certain topics are fixed,
others will be added according to the proposals and of opportunities.
When the program be will ready? Is it evolutionary?
A first version of the program will be available to July 15 on this
site. It will evolve/move to its final version before the meeting.

Which are the conditions to present a workshop? a debate?
We support the workshops presenting of the practical experiments. Made
know you, and we will organize the workshops by topics and
competences.
What was it made to support the participation of the women?
We encourage the participation of the women actively. In practice,
that is not easy, but we affirm our will to support in all our choices
the participation of the women.
Which is the participation of people resulting from the rural world?
The Steering Committee on the spot, and in particular, the commission
mobilization currently works in an area of Benign, the Mono one, in
order to mobilize and organize the participation of a group
representative, resulting from the rural medium, which will especially
come to share with us their concerns.
Who are the persons in charge accomodating the meeting on the spot
with the Benign one?
It is Gustave Assah, as a director of the Glegbenu network which is
the first person in charge for the meeting.
Which are the partners of the meeting?
In more of the organizers, one can quote the contribution to the
implementation on behalf of: Aipdrda: association of refugees in
Benign Africa computing, for the NTIC, in Marseilles in Amadip France
in Mali (member of the CAD MALI)
Members of association Survival and CADTM are implied in the
meeting.
Many African associations are implied in the organization, among which
one can quote: CDDA (Burkina Faso), AEC (Niger), International JUA &
HEART (Mali), Novation, JUDA (Togo)...
On the financial level, we received the support of the CNCD Belgium,
with 15 000 euros height, that is to say 10 000 000 of
Franks CFA.
Which is the relationship to the Beninese authorities?
Contacts are established with the authorities, which are
well-informed, and encourage the initiative.
QUESTIONS PRACTISE CONDITIONS ON THE SPOT
Where is held the meeting?
The university of Cotonou accomodates the meeting on its principal
site: the campus of Abomey-Calavi, located at 20 mn of the downtown
area, and 15 mn of the airport (in car). Within the campus, the
buildings of the French-speaking Numerical Campus of Cotonou will
accomodate activities Internet. The university city, where the
participants will be lodged is located in the vicinity, on the same
site.
Can one drink the water of the taps?
The water of the taps is drinkable, but one recommends to the fragile
stomachs to consume mineral water out of sachet, which will be
available on the spot, at low cost.
I intended to speak about problems with electricity with the Benign
one. What happenhappen does today?
It will have catches in the residences envisaged. The Benign one knew
one period of unballasting (long cuts by district) rather long, but
maintaining that functions well. The system is the same one as in
France. (220 Volts)
Which possibility of connection Internet?
There will be a connection available within the university where
takes place the meeting at the University Agency of Francophonie (AUF)
with around fifty of computers used in priority for the workshops news
technologies. A connection wireless telegraphy (wifi) will be
installed on the unit of the site. A space to accomodate the portable
computers will be envisaged.
MEAL
What it is planned for the restoration?
We will consume only local products. A great attention will be paid to
the quality of the preparation of the dishes, in order to be
appropriate to the international guests as well as possible. A
particular effort will be made so that all the participants can
nourish themselves at low cost.
HOUSING & TRANSPORT
Where will the participants be placed?
University residences occupied by the students during the year,
unoccupied during the holidays will be placed at the disposal by the
university for the meeting. 300 individual "cabins" are envisaged=

Who manages housing?
The sub-commission housing will accomodate the participants and will
install them at the time of their arrival on the site of the
university. It is essential for those which wish to be placed to make

How much does housing cost?
The price which the university per night and anybody grants to us is
2.000 F CFA (3 euros). The cost of accommodation of the
invited foreign participants will be dealt with by the meeting.
