Events:
Monday, September 26 - Lobby Day
Make sure your plans to come to DC for the Mobilization to End the Iraq War
include joining us on Monday, September 26 for
Congressional Education Day/ Lobby Day.
Congress has been complicit in this illegal and immoral war from day one, but we
can clearly see the beginnings of real
congressional opposition to the war and occupation. As support for the war
plummets in the polls, and more and more
Americans want the troops out sooner, not later we have a major opportunity to
compel Congress to take action to end the war
now.
Our goal is to have over 600 activists from dozens of national, state and local
organizations meet with over 100 members of
Congress.
We need you to join us.
If you have never visited Congress before, dont worry, UFPJ will provide
comprehensive training on Sunday, September 25,
and all the materials you will need.
To participate in the UFPJ lobby day, you must register. Just go to
http://www.unitedforpeace.org/lobbyday for more
information and to register.
Once you have registered, you will receive info on the training, appointments,
updates on logistics and legislative
information.
I look forward to meeting you and 600 of our closest friends in DC on September
26!
If you absolutely cant be in DC on Sept. 26, you can help amplify the call to
end the Iraq War Now, by making a solidarity
visit to your Representatives home office. If you are not sure who your
Representative is, or need their contact
information, you can go to http://capwiz.com/fconl/dbq/officials/.
