As the guy who does this "announcements" work on our weekly access show
"Indymedia Presents", I suggest that the tape editor just copy and past the
segment credits text into an email which goes to the list. That would let
everyone know what is on the show in plenty of time for people like me, who
drum up video contributors, to notify the contributors that their piece is
showing on FSTV. Some contributors have or have access to DISH network, or
perhaps their family in anther town has that access and the contributor in
turn would notify their family to watch the show. This has been a genuine
problem for us, and we get the sub-master to dub for screeners. By the time
we get the sub-master and figure out that a certain piece is indeed on it,
then the show has already played on FSTV. Screeners, many of who contribute
to the show as well, are even more delayed until we dub the show and mail it
to them.

If we got a timely email that merely listed the credits info, we'd know if a
segment made the cut and could forward that to the contributors, at least
the contributors we hustled up.

Just a suggestion. I know how much I didn't want to start sending out a
weekly announcement of what is on our show, because that meant just one more
thing I had to do every week. But after having sent out the announcements
for a while I believe it is well worth the effort it takes to send them.

And if the show editor does it, the info is typed once only, for the credits
on the timeline, then copy/pasted into an email. If anybody else does it,
there is a delay, and they have to type it all again.
