fyi from the FreecycleEdinburgh list
looks like it was a spam thing to harvest email addresses
will advise if anything comes of it

Yes, it looks like a spam scam to me too. Just to check, I did what was
asked
using an even less used email account than this one, and lo and behold no
response after an hour or so, so not that automatic a responder.
Would advise others to leave alone.
