[imc-scotland-discussion] meeting today

One thing I wanted to say about the print version was just that I see it as
a way of raising awareness of and involvement in Indymedia, whereas the
website is meant for distributing up-to-date news. The problem with the
website is that it's sort of preaching to the converted - only certain
groups of people are likely to use it, because a person either has to seek
it out intentionally or hear about it from a friend. By distributing a paper
version, hopefully we can introduce more people to reading and writing for
the website, and maybe even get more people interested in our space in
Edinburgh, and we can reach out to the general population and not just the
activist circles.

I think late October, in 3 weeks time, might be a good time to organise a
meeting. I want to give us enough time, say a couple of weeks, to contact
people and advertise the meeting so new people can get involved, as I think
we might be able to get a decent turnout. Before that we'd have to decide an
exact meeting time and place, and I probably can't make tonights meeting, so
I added an extra week.

Perhaps a meeting time and place could be discussed at tonights meeting
though? Otherwise I'd say we need to organise an ad-hoc meeting next week to
discuss organising the print meeting and get a plan together.
