What is it?
The Free Film Festival is aimed to provide informational and
inspirational films and documentaries for free by using the facilities available in
our communities and our educational institutions. Each location is self
managed so if you wish to find out more information about the screenings please
get in touch with the group that is organizing them through the contact
details at the bottom of this page.

Who is involved?
Open Vistas
Open Vistas is a Glasgow School of Art association composed of students
and tutors that aims to show challenging films about current issues. Films
shown so far have focussed on the Israel/Palestine situation.

GS Film Theatre
GS is a Strathclyde group that screens high quality political
documentary related to current events that usually generates very informative
discussions following the screenings.

GAP
Glasgow Autonomous Project is community group based at the Chalkboard
Social Center near St George's X underground. The group aims to provide a
space for the local community to gather and organize themselves toward positive
social change.

Camcorder Guerillas
The camcorder Guerillas are a Glasgow based video activist collectives
currently working towards providing Glasgow with videos and literature
for research and diffusion purposes about subjects that rarely make it into
the mainstream media and education. By becoming a community resource, the
Camcorder Guerillas hope to help organise more events such as these by
putting groups in touch with each other.

1) donate money to those organising these screenings for paper and ink
+ time and effort
2) If you want to put on a free screening, know of someone who already
is doing that, or want to help out at the current screening locations

3) can you make cakes? if so, make some and bring them to the screening
to share with others ... makes for a much nicer atmosphere.
