Hi scotland imc people,
Mike here from bristol imc. I'd like to offer technical assistance if any
is needed, and to make closer links between our groups as we are so
(relatively) close together. We've been a bit slack on this front up to
now.
I noticed recently that you are running dadaimc which we previously used and
I was instrumental in setting up and configuring it. I also noticed
recently that the support for dada seems to have broken down.
We are currently running oscailt and about to launch an upgraded site
running oscailt3. We like it a lot. If you consider changing CMS then you
might want to look at oscailt and consider joining an effort to support and
improve it with imc bristol and imc ireland. Additional users and tech
would probably help this project a lot. I would also be interested to
experiment with a dadaimc to oscailt conversion script, that might encourage
other imc's to consider this option.
I'm also happy to help fix bugs in your existing setup - do you have a tech
list?
PS - is anyone planning to go the the uk imc meet next week?

I agree with you: the comments dont need to be deleted, they are already
hidden due to being voted down.

Hi there,
For some reason I'm still on this e-list, so apologies for dropping in.
if you get copies to the national library, anyone in any library
anywhere in UK can request and get a copy... something I would have
thought was worth supporting.
With links, think a useful pointer could be in making a distinction
between hierachical and horizontal types of orgs, with a v. short
introductory statement making that clear.
Bob at City Strolls is talking about a get
together for/with/about Inymedia projects in Scotland at the January
Reshuffle he's planning -- see Bob for details.
All best,
Leigh

Meetings. I think one is overdue, more so me being at one. I am in
Edinburgh over xmas so would like to meet folk for a bit chat.
There's a chance to do a workshop in Glasgow at the Reshuffle event. I
can contribute to it but not sure what to do on my own.
My technical skills are improving slowly but from a very low base and
low knowledge of the existing systems. Seems there's 3 options though:
* keep on with DadaIMC
* join the Drupal IMC process
* join Ireland & Bristol with Oscait
Discussions like these can be hellish, though. I suggest that we need to
think hard and come up with a list of reuirements, improvements, wishes
etc. Everything that we want our IMC 2.0 ;) to do. I've started one but
don't have time to type it up this evening.
I also think that site users (casual and potential) need to be involved
in this. I'm thinking of sending out a survey (nauseating as that may
seem) to find out what folk want, what falls short and what confuses
them about the current set-up.
I'd welcome input from others on that, even if it's just in the form of
"did you get any responses back?"
Enough typing for now.
