Hmm. I don't think I've removed any comments because I've disagreed with
them today. 80% of the 4x4 comments were flat-out abuse with no attempt
at making a point. Mixed in with that have been some that have tried to
make an arguement. Where it gets difficult is that they've come from a
site where they can get away with all sorts of crap and so the political
points have are mostly mixed in with abuse.
The question is whether its worth keeping those points and on days like
today I tend towards hiding borderline material so as to try & keep the
temperature down. Sometimes editing the abuse out is possible but it can
take too much time.
I don't see a free for all as being a desirable option. There's a crowd
that have access to broadband, plenty spare time and spleen to vent.
That's very off-putting to some people and could reflect as badly on us
as the scotsman's forums do on them. It ends up like a meeting dominated
by 2 or 3 people where no-one else gets a say. We can do better.
What I reckon, anyway.
