Yeah drupal has module to eat RSS feeds and make newswire-like things. I
have added the indymedia.org rss feed as a demonstration (on
infoseed.co.uk). As for the user adding of blog feeds thing, that will
need a bit of thought but shouldn't be too hard.

I want to set a date some time towards the end of this next week to
migrate the site. I don't know of any show-stopping bugs, and the
migrate script looks dandy.

It will mean the site would be offline for maybe half an hour while
drupal is set up, old article database is imported, and various other
crud is done.

How about the early hours of Friday morning?

Then any remaining issues will quickly be found and fixed, and we can
move on to new features like an improved calendar and the flash video
upload thingy.
