[imc-scotland-discussion] IMC Uk network meeting

Hia,

we had a good meeting of Indymedia Uk plus Indy York and Indy Bristol in  
Nottingham. The chocolate cake made by Veggies in Sumac was great, too,  
and it was good to meet everybody and see the projects people were working  
on and similar.

A decision has been made to change the IMC Uk startpage and York and  
Bristol are going to be listed in future under "other regions" again. I  
said that people in IMC Scotland probably wouldn't want to be listed under  
"other regions" but maybe "other nations" or "other friendly neighbouring  
IMC collectives" or so. So Indy Uk has said they are happy to give us an  
extra special description or button or whatever on the startpage if we  
would be so nice and do the same on our frontpage to link back to the Imc  
UK? So we could talk about this at the next meeting,too. We could do  
probably the same promonent link exchange with Bristol and York if we  
wanted to, they are much more focused on their local stuff and there are  
less of crossover postings, of course.

notes from the very first session on Saturday morning, and the last one on  
Sunday afternoon. and of course people can improve them with their own

There might also be the opportunity to have rss-feeds of IMC SCOTLAND  
features included somewhere on new startpage, but we would of course need  
to discuss if we want it and then feedback to imcuk  if possible at a  
network meeting.

What is also an exciting prospect is that we might do an extra aggregated  
site consisting of compiling rss feeds from other activist groups and/or  
blogs and similar. We are currently talking about stuff like that. A new  
calendar is work in progress, too. There have also been lenghty  
discussions on moderating the newswire and the recent antisemitism dispute.

The next imc uk network meeting was said to be either in April or in May  
in London at Ramparts ( either Ramparts I or Ramparts II, depending what  
the legal state of the eviction affairs is). Exact dates to follow. London  
as a venue because other collectives have troubles finding suitable and  
big enough spaces.
