Hi, As this was something I was planning to bring up at the next indymedia scotland meeting, I thought it might be good to introduce it here first. I think that Indymedia, and the activist movement generally, would substantially benefit from more focus on the ends we are trying to achieve. Not only does this clarify and inform our day to day activism, but it allows people who are alienated from the movement (though they accept it's premises) because of the lack of an articulated solution. In an attempt to remedy this, I would really like to be involved in setting up a space on Indymedia Scotland in which individuals could publish articles (maintaining the format of the existing site) detailing what they think would are reasonable goals and 'visions' for the future society that we hope to bring about. Whether or not there would also be a forum, for discussion, or if such discussion would be relegated to the comments sections would, in my view, depend on how much work creating a forum would be. Finally, when I've mentioned this to people involved with IMC scotland i've generally gotten the impression that, while they like the idea, there have been in the past a lack of people willing to devote time to it, something I would be more than happy to do.
