Hello people,

Regarding the translation of things into Gaelic that was discussed at
the glasgow meeting.

First I think that the fact that almost zero articles have been posted
to the site in gaelic suggests that there is not the interest to warrant
adding this complexity to the site setup... but anyway..

Technical stuff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drupal supports translation of interface as well as translation of nodes
(drupal technical term for articles, stories, pages, events, ie, things
people stick on the site). I have no idea how these modules will play
with the modules & views I have written myself so I urge a wee bit of
caution.
If this is going to be pursued it needs to be developed first on a
staging site somewhere. When I am developing for the site I write and
test my code first on a drupal site running on my own computer, and then
when things are ready to go I test again on the IMC scotland test server:
http://scotland.imcscotland.org/
And finally, when all is ready to go live I'd put things on the
scotland.indymedia.org server.
Do other IMC scotland developers want admin accounts on
scotland.imcscotland.org?
The additional modules you need to get your own imc drupal site running
are listed here:
