Here is a link to the basic principles we signed up to in March 2003 in order
to become part of the global Indymedia network:
http://archives.lists.indymedia.org/new-imc/2003-March/003552.html
(also interesting for the research project)
Usually there were also details on the basic principles of an indymedia centre
on the documentation wiki docs.indymedia.org , but that wiki seems its not
working at the moment - possibly lack of servers or something?
