I think it would be great to go ahead with this, i think a directory of
groups would be v useful to complement the news articles.
re the question raised

I agree writing a definition of what groups we want to include may not be
that easy but i suspect in practice we will be in agreement about the vast
majority.
could perhaps add to

"grass-roots, independent (ie not controlled by a political party), groups
which are working against inequality/oppression /exploitation"
Would it be helpful if people submitted lists of groups/ spaces they think
should be included?
