Dear Indymedia folks,

Hi, my name is Abby and I work with an organization in Chicago called the Mexico Solidarity Network. I am writing about 25 of you today to enlist your help in covering a very large event that will be coming through over 50 cities in the U.S. and Canada beginning October 18. Essentially we are initiating our Caravan for Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico that will be stopping in cities throughout the country to raise awareness of what is happening to the women of these cities and hopefully promote some real activism in doing something about it.

There are five routes that will all be leaving on the 18th, each beginning in 5 different cities, and will then proceed on an 11 city tour until ultimately reaching El Paso, where we will have a demonstration as we cross the border together into Juarez. We are putting this caravan together as a coalition of different organizations from both the US and Mexico, and essentially all money raised beyond our costs for the caravan will be split equally among our Mexican organizational partners.

Now that I've told you all of this, I will tell you that we are very interested in getting some decent and accurate media coverage of these events. I have contacted all of you because you are all in cities that we will be coming through. We would really love it if someone from your collective can come and cover the events and help us spread the word through the activist community, and also to most accurately represent our harsh criticism of the Mexican government and the mainly US corporations that we hold responsible for the deaths of now almost 400 women.

I really look forward to hearing from some and hopefully all of you, and please keep up the good work getting what is really happening out to all of us who would otherwise be stuck with Tom Brokaw's version of what is really happening around us.

In Solidarity,

I have attached a recent media advisory for our event to give you each a better idea of our Caravan, and I would really love to hear back from someone in each city to see if we can get this covered as much as humanly possible
