EDWARDS TO VISIT MISSOURI DURING COLLEGE TOUR TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG  
PEOPLE TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY

Columbia, Missouri - On Tuesday, October 18, 2005, Senator John  
Edwards, the 2004 Democratic vice-presidential nominee and former  
U.S. Senator from North Carolina, will visit the University of  
Missouri-Columbia as part of Opportunity Rock's two-week College Tour  
of ten schools across the country to encourage young people to get  
involved in the fight against poverty.  As part of the tour, Edwards  
will speak with students and community activists on campus and visit  
a local community service site.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a  
non-perishable food item, which will be donated to a local food bank  
with the help of America's Second Harvest.  The details of the events  
are below:


TUESDAY OCTOBER 18, 2005
10:00 AM    Senator Edwards and students to visit Women of Worth  
community service program
         Parkade Center

12:15 PM    Senator Edwards to speak with students and activists  
about getting involved in the fight against poverty

         Columbia, Missouri
         (doors open at 11:30 AM)

1:30 PM    Senator Edwards to hold a media availability
         University of Missouri-Columbia
         The Alumni Center-T.O. Wright Room
