"Truly, in remembrance of God, hearts find rest.” – Qur’an
This form of remembrance, the Zikr circle, is a ceremony of the centuries-old Halveti-Jerrahi Sufi order, which has its origins in Turkey. This mystic ceremony sets the mood for the participant — the dervish or spiritual aspirant — to leave the world and its concerns behind. One comes to open and offer one’s heart to God through prayer, praise and devotion. Laurence Galian, a Sheikh of the Nimatullahi and Khwajagani Sufi Orders, is the leader of the St. Louis Nur Ashki Jerrahi Circle. All are welcome.
In traditional Sufism, coming together for a meal is very important. This is called "The Table of the Lovers". Insha'Allah, we will once again have a delicious meal after our Zikr. Please bring a covered dish, dessert or drink. We have a large kitchen and microwave.
"First we taste the food, then we eat the food, and then we become the food." - Sheikha Fariha al-Jerrahi
This event is FREE.
