	** IMC-StL_Monthly Meeting Kickoff **

       The First Second Sunday...
	A great bunch of people showed up for the 'ReBoot Launch 
Meeting' on July 31, and a lot got done.  High on the list, a 
consensus:  It's time to restore the IMC tradition of reliable 
monthly business meetings, and the 2nd Sunday of each month is a good 
day to do it.
So we will get off to a fast start this Sunday evening, August 12, 
and build on new momentum.

       New Website Premiere...
	For months we've been laying technical and conceptual 
groundworks for the new IMC-StL Website, and now we're ready to build 
it:   A 'Virtual Barnraising' is set for Saturday 8/11... a team of 
Cyber-Wizards will converge to erect the framework and assemble major 
components.
The re-designed mainpage will be introduced at the Sunday meeting, 
for discussion and inputs on the dynamics of the site, and the new 
potentials it creates.

       A Council of Members...
	It's more than just 'another meeting' and whoever shows up: 
Being a St. Louis Indymedia Member & Volunteer has new meaning, 
privileges & responsibilities, in the mission of forming and running 
a new kind of media organization -- a resource for the region, better 
than before.
Members embody IMC-StL and make the decisions... the monthly Council 
is where their ideas & skills come to play, and their creative 
co-work is set in motion.

       Implementing Good Plans...
	The "Re-Boot" phase did its job, spawning useful Brainstorms 
on where IMC-StL can go, and how to get there.  The rubber meets the 
road this Sunday -- reorganizing the IMC, setting tasks & terms of 
cooperation, scoping projects, and making a media presence with good 
grassroots journalism.
We're building this thing to last, and hot story ideas are already on 
the table.

    *  New Website Premiere
    *  Publishing Options & Prefs
    *  Media Training Projects, status & needs
    *  Set-up: Association & Membership
    *  Crew Reports: Editorial, Tech, Co-Ops
    *  Being an IndyJournalist
    *  Stories To Get
