        yup
its that time of the month again

        what is it?
this is a free fun bicycle ride
that happens on the last friday of every month
in hundreds of cities around the world
its a wonderful bicycle party parade
that celebrates the freedom of traveling
        under your own power
its also an example of how the bicycle
can be a viable means of alternative transportation
its an open event that invites individuals
        to express themselves creatively socially
        politically artistically vocally
to an audience of their friends neighbors
        coworkers and fellow citizens
        its a reclamation of space
        suggesting the concept
that our city belongs to people and not machines

kansas citys mass starts from the sunfresh parking lot
on mill street between southwest trafficway
        and westport road
        meet at 6p
        ride at 6:30ish
and usually explores the lively streets
of westport midtown and the plaza
sometimes we head downtown and the city market
        before heading back towards the
start to hunt down food and spirits
the slowest rider determines the pace
(the point is to be there-not get anywhere)
and often the youngest rider determines the route!
this is a fun friendly ride for all ages
aimed at spreading bicycle-cheer throughout our community
        across cultural and geographical boundaries
        see you there
        peace
