Dear Supporters:

CAPCR’s bill for Local Control of the St. Louis Police Department is 
progressing in the Missouri Senate. We need your help to move it along 
further. Currently, the bill is scheduled to be heard in committee this 
Wednesday, February 28. The committee is the Economic Developement, Tourism 
and Local Government Committee.

We are asking you to call the Chair of that committee, Senator John 
Griesheimer. Please thank him for hearing the bill and urge his support. 
Senator Griesheimer’s phone number is 573-751-3678. The bill is SB 486, 
sponsored by Senator Maida Coleman.

It would also be a huge help if you could email the other members of the 
committee, asking them to support Local Control. The senators don’t list 
their email addresses, so here’s what you can do. 1) Go to the following 
link, which lists all the committee members: 
http://www.senate.mo.gov/07info/comm/edtl.htm  2) Click on each senator’s 
name and then click the button in the upper right hand corner of that 
senator’s web page which says “Email the Senator”. 3) You will then be shown 
an emai format to fill out.
