Dear Friend of CTSA,
We're very excited to announce the world premiere of VEIL OF SILENCE, a
new play by Andrew Michael Neiman and Suzanne Renard. This play deals
with a subject that has been conspicuously absent from the American
stage: the costs of the current war and how it comes home in our
veterans? life-long battles with injury and trauma.
The protagonist of VEIL OF SILENCE is Aaron, a U.S. Marine, recently
returned home after completing a haunting tour in Iraq. His overseas
?mission accomplished,? he must now confront an equally terrifying
challenge: resuming life as husband, father and friend as a man
irrevocably altered. At the patient urging of his wife, Amy, Aaron
begins to share his experiences. Instead of relieving him of his pain,
however, facing these traumatic events head-on further torments Aaron,
testing his psychological fortitude as well as the love of the woman
closest to him.
VEIL OF SILENCE, sponsored by Veterans for Peace, will run the first two
weekends in November.
SHOW TIMES:
Friday, November 2?8:00pm
Saturday, November 3?8:00pm
Sunday, November 4?2:00pm
Friday November 9?8:00pm
Saturday, November 10?8:00pm
Sunday, November 11?2:00pm
Performances will be held at The Black Cat Theatre, 2810 Sutton in
Maplewood.
Tickets are $15 for adults, and $12 for students, seniors and veterans.
Proceeds from this production will benefit Veterans For Peace and the
Iraq Water Project.
On opening night, Friday, November 2nd, CTSA is hosting a
post-performance gathering with the cast at the neighboring Maya Cafe.
The folks at Maya are generously providing the space, chips and salsa
and a cash bar. We'll be passing the hat to raise some funds to help
make this production a success. We hope you'll be able to come to the
play and join us afterwards.
Here is a flyer that you can download and pass around at work, school or
