Drawing Night! Sunday Night 10/28, 7-9pm
Come help Create CAMPs shrine for Dia de los Muertos
On this drawing night we will be perfecting our community ofrenda.
Day of the Dead is a holiday that honors death by remembering and
celebrating our ancestors, inviting back the wisdom and presence of
Those Who Have Gone Before.
Our shrines' theme is "Homage to our Heroes" --- a way to explore and
depict those (dead) people whose lives have influenced and inspired
us. Sojourner Truth, Buddha, Ghandi, Shauna… ……………………who for you?
You can participate that night, or any time prior during Afterschool
Hours (M-Th 4-7pm) by:
* Bringing objects or photographs that represent your hero, food that
they liked (*that won't spoil by Nov 3), or beautiful fabrics,
flowers, incense, candles – anything meaningful that you'd like to
share.
*Make a black and white 8 ½ X 11 drawing that represents your take on
the death-life continuum. (See Jerome Gaynor's flier for
inspiration!) Leave your contribution in the submissions box in the
foyer or send to nevertidy at gmail.com
