All.
I also attended this meeting. For Benton Park West, there are three
proposed stations - Gravois and Jefferson, Arsenal and Jefferson, and
Cherokee and Jefferson.
My experience from being in New York, Chicago, etc., this type of mass
transit is exactly what Saint Louis needs.
After the meeting, I was thinking of all the places I go. Other than
driving to work...this one line would service 90%+ of all my
transportation needs.
Checkout the plan and give your input. The only negative is that this
is a planning phase and with this much work to be done, we're looking
for as long as 8-10 years before the project is complete.
Thanks!
Bill.

Please contact Metro-Link and tell them you support the Jefferson
Avenue/I-55 Metro-Link route.

They are considering coming down Jefferson to S. Broadway and then 55 south.
I think this would be great for our area.
Metrolink states we will not lose any traffic lanes.

MetroLink Gaining Popularity With Developers

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Ridership in the St. Louis region's light rail
system is rising steadily, and developers are capitalizing on mass
transit's popularity.
Developers are building near MetroLink stations.
One's even pledged $3 million toward a new station for its project site.
The first MetroLink line opened in July 1993.
Nearly 22 million riders are expected to use the system this year, a
32 percent increase over 17 million last year.
The addition last August of an eight-mile cross-county extension
connected the system and helped to increase ridership.
Officials say reconstruction of Highway 40 in the St. Louis area --
and impending road closures -- have created a greater awareness about
public transportation.
