Dear STLC,
 
I sent this out asking for folks to take action. Well I faxed letters in support of those who supported no funding for this bill and perhaps some of you did as well. 
 
If so I would like to say thank you STLC. You all ROCK! This is good news!

The Musgrave/John Salazar No Funding amendment was signed into law by President Bush 
 and the Allard/Ken Salazar more studies bill was vetoed 
 










Dear friends, 
 
It is good news that the Defense Authorization bill with the Allard/Salazar 'more studies amendment' was vetoed. 
 
It is good news that the bundle of bills (omnibus) that includes the no funding language by Congresswoman Musgrave and Congressman John Salazar was signed into law on the 26th by President Bush!









No Funding means No Expansion and No Money for Expansion....


 
The Musgrave-John Salazar language is now law.  The exact language that was in the omnibus package signed by the President is : 
 
"None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available in this Act may be used for any action that is related to or promotes the expansion of the boundaries or size of the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site, Colorado."The Allard-Ken Salazar language calling for another year of  more studies was in a different bill.  That bill was vetoed, however it is still in play.Spending for more studies though flies in the face of the intent of NO EXPANSION / NO MONEY FOR EXPANSION.NO FUNDING MEANS NO EXPANSION / NO MONEY FOR EXPANSION.








Continue writing and calling your representatives and keep helping them understand that more wasted tax dollars is not in our country's best interest.  No funding means no expansion and no more spending of our tax dollars for anything expansion related.
