Pinon Canyon Update
The U.S. Army wants to expand its Pinon Canyon Maneuver site, east of Trinidad. Property owners near the site - and now the U.S. Congress - are caught up in the battle. Dan Meyers speaks to property owner Linda Williams, and Pueblo Chieftain Reporter Peter Roper.
FROM PCEOC:
Even though we now have legislation prohibiting going forward with any expansion related expenses, DOD hired guns (private contractors) are calling many of us.
Our answers aren't what they want however. They want to know what they can do to 'make people accept an expansion' and our response is we will never accept expansion. They must learn to accept that reality instead.
And, they are finding out it's more than 'ranchers against expansion'. It is multitudes of people concerned about our country's future for multitudes of reasons. We will continue our efforts with everyone's continuing involvement and solidarity.
