Subject: 2nd Annual 1877 General Strike Commemoration & Update

Food Not Bombs will be cooking and serving food at the 2nd Annual 1877
General Strike Commemoration
<http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=22886723581>, Sunday, July 6th
(this Sunday), starting at noon, at the Sons of Rest Pavilion in Tower
Grove Park (4256 Magnolia Avenue). This is a potluck, and everyone
should come; don't feel like you have to bring a dish of food to come,
all are welcome. It will be fun and a great learning experience. We
will revisit a moment in labor history when workers showed solidarity
without regard for race, to shut down the City of St. Louis. There
will be free food.

WE WILL BE COOKING FOR THE POTLUCK: in Alton at 8:00. For more info,
email <foodnotbombs-stl at riseup.net>.

As to what happened in Lucas Park this week...nothing. We got there
earlier, but the police didn't seem to care about us serving food in
Lucas Park anyway. There were a ton of police in the park who did not
say a thing. I think our friend on the bicycle, big man or not,
doesn't matter, because the police do not care. Everyone seemed to be
in agreement that we will keep serving in Lucas Park, beginning again,
on July 13th.
