Hi everyone, these are busy times so this will be a bit short this
week. Don't forget to vote, to turn out the vote, and to make sure
that no one is prevented from voting! Make sure to bring an I.D. with
you to the polls; you can find out which kinds of IDs are accepted at
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www.sos.mo.gov%2Felections%2Fvoterid%2F
.

This week's events:

Monday, Nov. 3. The WashU Peace Coalition puts up a tombstone display
every year raising awareness of the soldiers and civilians who have
been killed in the Iraq War. Today is the day for that event, and it
takes a lot of work to put the display up. If anyone is interested in
helping set up from 7 to 9 AM, please check out
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=98575810197 . Monday is
noncoincidentally also the day that Karl Rove is getting $35,000 to
speak at WashU. If you're interested in protesting outside the event,
please send an email to aaronboswahl at gmail.com .

Tuesday, Nov. 4. Vote Vote Vote Vote Vote and then GOTV GOTV GOTV or
Poll Monitor. Once the polls are done, you should go to the official
Obama Victory Party which you can find at
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=32561573321 . (note to neocons,
"vote vote vote" is an expression of enthusiasm for voting, not a call
for voting multiple times, so please do not sue me for "voter fraud.")

Wednesday, Nov. 5, This month's Black and Green Wednesday focuses on
how progressives can build on this year's elections. Get the details
at http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www.insteadofwar.org%2Fsite%2Fcalendar%2Fevents.php%3Fid%3DE4657
.

Thursday, Nov. 6. Let's take a break. Maybe at Observable Readings?

Friday, Nov. 7. Amnesty International at WashU is hosting an awesome
party called "Jams for Justice" at the WashU Coop, open to all. Entry
is $5 and all proceeds will go to the St Louis Center for Survivors of
Torture and War Trauma. RSVP at
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=42241054399

Saturday, Nov 8. Black Bear Bakery is having its monthly Brunch
Benefit for KDHX 88.1FM Saturday Nov. 8th from 9am to 2pm, 2639
Cherokee. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www.blackbearbakery.org

Also Saturday, the new chique restaurant The Wine Bar is hosting a
fundraiser for the Peace Economy Project: check it out at
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www.insteadofwar.org%2Fsite%2Fcalendar%2Fevents.php%3Fid%3DE4597
.

Have a fun, meaningful, and hopefully victorious week,

Adam
