[imc-st.louis] Announcement: Upcoming IMC & Confluence Meetings

Become part of local, independent, radical media!  An alternaive media 
collective is forming in St. Louis to reinvigorate the St. Louis 
Independent Media Center website and to continue to publish Confluence.  
St. Louis is in dire needs of a more radical media that confronts the 
sensationalism and fear-mongering awash in our news choices.  We will 
not find this radicalism amongst the corporate media, so we must create 
our own options!

We want to announce two important meetings in the coming weeks:

1.) The IMC and Confluence collectives will be meeting on Wednesday, 
Sept. 17, 7:30PM @CAMP  3026 Cherokee (@ Minnesota) in South St. Louis.  
The attendees of this meeting will consider items mostly of the 
organizational, logistical, and technological sorts.  All are welcome to 
contribute to these discussions.  We will promote an environment of 
tolerance and we will adhere to a consensus-based decision making 
process.  Please forward this email or pass the word to anyone who has 
contributed to or might be interested in (or has been in the past) 
independent media.

2.) On Tuesday, August 23, 7:30PM a writer's collective will meet to 
discuss potential subjects for future news/political/cultural/etc. 
stories for IMC or Confluence Magazine.  Unlike the IMC and Confluence 
meeting on 9/17, this meeting will be exclusively focused on 
brainstorming and writing news stories.  If you have been looking for a 
forum to share your writing, this is your venue!
