A Progress Report and Call to Action*

In an effort to utilize the energy and hope from the Obama candidacy to
organize around key local issues, the Justice Institute, a coalition of
social justice organizations, will convene a town hall style meeting to
assess the first 100 days of the Obama administration. Featured speakers
include:

• *Sylvester Brown Jr*., one of St. Louis’ most trusted voices on
community issues

• *Andy Heaslet,* director of the Peace Economy Project and
• *Michael McPhearson*, Gulf War veteran and executive director of
the national office of Veterans for Peace

Questions to be dealt with include: Is President Obama fulfilling his
campaign promises to the People? Will his current appointments and
strategies get the desired outcomes? There will be joint working
sessions to determine local coordinated action to promote peace,
education and healthcare.

This event is free and open to the public; advance registration is
encouraged. Participation confirmation may be sent to the Justice
