Do you know students who might like to go to medical school in Cuba?

Students who are accepted to study medicine in Cuba…

* do not pay for tuition or text books; and,

* receive a dorm room, meals and medical care for free.

After six years of training, students receive a M.D. with zero school
loans to pay off.

What is the cost? Before being accepted, students must pledge to
practice medicine in a low income community when they become a doctor.

Preference is given to students who have been actively involved in
social justice movements and who are low income and/or people of color,
though others are also welcome.

Would you like to learn more about medical school in Cuba (Latin
American School of Medicine in Havana - ELAM, Escuela Latinoamericana de
Medicina)? Then…

1. Go to the Pastors for Peace website (http://www.ifconews.org/) and
click on “Medical School.”

2. If you read Spanish, go to the ELAM website: www.elacm.sld.cu/

3. Join us at the July 13, 2009 program on the Caravan for Cuba in St.
Louis.
