*“Environmental Costs of Eminent Domain”*
Eminent domain forces home and business owners to sell their property —
and real estate speculators often allow it to deteriorate. As vacant
buildings invite dumping of both garbage and hazardous waste, eminent
domain becomes an environmental hazard. Host Don Fitz discusses these
problems with Washington University Economics Professor emeritus Fred
Raines, Green Party activist Angelika Rowry and Eugene Fowler of the
Citizens Coalition to Fight Eminent Domain Abuse. They ask whether the
current administration is using eminent domain to drive low income black
families out of St. Louis. This Green Time (No. 311) is produced by the
Gateway Greens in conjunction with KDHX. Call 314-727-8554 or contact
