into  Van Fire at McCowan's home

Demand that both the Attorney General of Missouri and the Civil Rights div
of the US Justice Dept. carry out an independent investigation of the van
fire. Recall the memories of the civil rights KKK firebombing of Black Churches
and the attacks on Black preachers. Call the NAACP, ACLU, OBS and other civil
rights organizations. This is both a civil rights and voting rights issue.
Get liberal politicians( Jeanne Mott Oxford) , labor, and community leaders
to demand an investigation even if they don't agree with McCowans politics.

As events warrant we will also start a national campaign for an independent
investigation, especially in light of Elston's recent remarks on the St.Louis
Fire Dept. racial controversy at the candidates forum yesterday.

Elston McCowan’s van was set fire early this morning 30 feet from his
home where his children were sleeping. There will be an emergency press
conference at noon today in front of his home where the van is. It was
used to transport people and literature to campaign events.

It is extremely important to come the mayoral debate this evening.
