The Environmental Clothesline
_September 11, 2009 -- St. Louis, Missouri._ Alexander Lee, Executive
Director of Project Laundry List, will be the keynote speaker at the
Nineteenth Great Green Pesto Feast on Saturday, September 12. His talk
on "Hanging Out to $ave Dough," will describe how to keep utility bills
low by trimming the use of gas and electricity. Clotheslines are free
to use and inexpensive to install while clothes dryers are among the
home's worst utility hog among appliances.
To arrange an interview with Alexander Lee on Friday or Saturday, please
call 314-727-8554. Mr. Lee's dynamic advocacy of the clothesline has
been covered in the /Wall Street Journal/, /New York Times/, NPR, CBS
There are amazing rewards form the use of cold-water washing and
air-drying. Alexander Lee believes that the laundry room is a great
place to start cleaning up the mess of personal finance, consumerism,
climate change, and energy security.
Use of clotheslines is part of our right to safe, affordable homes.
Every citizen should have a home that is free of lead and mold. The
Gateway Green Alliance believes that eminent domain must cease, both in
St. Louis City and County. As the economy slides, we must protect our
homes with a moratorium on foreclosures, evictions and utility shutoffs.
The Great Green Pesto Feast is the annual vegetarian fundraising dinner
