The work of the great civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, remains
unfinished.Blacks continue to have lower income, worse medical care, and
fewer educational opportunities than do whites.Blacks are imprisoned at
a higher rate and are more often shot and killed by police. These
differences are getting larger as time goes on.

Those who honor Martin Luther King often forget to mention his strong
connection to the labor and peace movements of his time. King vigorously
opposed the Vietnam War and was assassinated while supporting sanitation
workers.
