Extraction of oil from tar sands is one of the biggest environmental
disasters in world history, whether or not a pipeline flows through the
US.St. Louis needs to strengthen public transportation; but efforts are
being blocked largely due to class and racial issues.Changing
construction so that homes are more compact can pave the way for solar
and wind power. The most basic change of all is reconceptualizing how to
use urban space. Many citizens are challenging corporations that stand in
the way.
