Hey folks,

Israel destroyed Lebanon last summer and killed over a thousand innocent
people with US-made weapons, US taxpayer money, and US  government
encouragement.  I wrote something about it, which is at the end of this
email.  Feel free to pass it around if you see fit.

Any non-US citizen can now be legally kidnapped anywhere in the world,
detained indefinitely without trial, and  tortured, according to the US
Congress, as of last week.  Texas is preparing to build 18 new coal-fired
reactors.  I've just completed the west coast bit of my Halliburton
Boardroom Massacre US Tour, playing for many audiences of 20 people or
less, plus a few bigger audiences.  Altogether it's not giving me a great
sense of optimism.

The rest of October and November will take me around the northeast,
midwest and southeastern US.  Hopefully audiences will be better there
than on the west coast, otherwise I am seriously considering going back to
playing in the subways.  Details  of the upcoming dates in Toledo,
Detroit, Chicago, Evanston (IL), Madison,  Minneapolis, Houston, Hartford,

Many of my friends are now in prison or facing unbelievably long prison
sentences right now, as I write this.  They need your support now.  You

25-year prison sentence for giving a speech.  (Yes, you're not
hallucinating, this is Amerikkka.)   For my little part, if anybody wants
to do a serious job of organizing a benefit concert for Rod or Daniel I
will play for free.  I have a new section on "how to organize a show" in
the "booking" area of my website for anyone wanting to consider doing
this.

On a more musical note, my friend Jim Page has once again proven himself
to be among the world's very best songwriters.  His new CD is called Head
Full of Pictures, and it's  incredible... Jim has also got a MySpace page
(www.myspace.com/seattlejimpage)  with one of the great tracks from the CD
which you can listen to for free, Petroleum Bonaparte.

Speaking of which, my friend John Fabiani continues to do a stellar job of
varying the songs that are up on (http://www.myspace.com/davidrovics) to 
match the latest news...

A few weeks ago Mike Malloy (www.mikemalloy.com) was fired from Air
America Radio, which seems intent on ridding itself of any pesky radical
voices on their airwaves, and becoming yet another voice for the liberal
end of the elite.  This brings the number of national radio programs that
regularly play my music to, well, zero.  (Am  I bitter?  Not in the
least.)

And that's the news from me.  Look in upcoming issues of Clamor, Left
Turn, the Progressive, Mother Jones, and Sing Out!  magazines for
advertisements for my new CD/DVD.  (All great publications anyway, with or
without my face in them.)  Thanks again to all the people who made such
generous contributions towards my efforts to promote the recording...
